Graham and I took the opportunity while the car was being fixed in Germany to take some time out and spend a day exploring the cute, quaint , old town of Lindau on the Bodensee. The weather was not so great but we were together and there was no kids. We really need to make time for more of these days to touch base with each other.
As we were wandering we came across the setting up of their central Christmas tree. It was quite a feat with crane, a dozen men, gathering crowd and a lot of holding their tongues the right way so it would slide into the hole.
I still find it amazing even after nearly 2 years that some of our everyday needs take place in a totally different country. The reason fo this is cost as things in Germany are cheaper and we also get the tax back.
Kitschenette and I have discussed doing regular trips once a month to Germany to stock up on the staples , however time is not always on our side and with kinder this excursion can be fatal for all concerned.
